Charity & Community Partnerships

For us, ‘Hospitality for Humanity’ means making space — literally and metaphorically — for people who are trying to make the world a little kinder, fairer, braver, and more imaginative.
We know that doing meaningful work often comes with tight budgets, stretched teams, and very little breathing room. By offering access to our spaces at low (or no) cost, we hope to make community-building more affordable, accessible, and joyful for all.
So far, we have welcomed organisations working in areas like environmental justice, music for welness, women’s empowerment, neurodiversity support, education, training, and community development. And we look forward to opening our doors to many more.
What We Can Offer
If availability allows, we are happy to host:
-
Workshops and training days
-
Small events and talks
-
Support groups and community meetings
-
Planning sessions and away days
-
Creative or wellbeing gatherings
-
Informal meet-ups for volunteers, staff, or service users
-
Small fundraisers, discussions, or awareness events
Our spaces are warm, private, colourful, relaxed, and a little unconventional — ideal for organisations that want something more human than a boardroom, but more contained than a café.
Who Is This For?
We are especially interested in hearing from organisations working in areas such as:
-
Social justice
-
Environmental protection
-
Women’s empowerment
-
Neurodiversity and disability support
-
Mental health and wellbeing
-
Education and training
-
Community development
-
Creativity, culture, and inclusion
-
Refugee, migrant, or international support
-
Local Eastbourne and Sussex community projects
If you are doing sincere, useful, community-minded work, we would love to hear from you.

How It Works...
Because The Sheldon is also a working B&B, all partnership requests are considered according to availability, timing, group size, and the nature of the event.
Some spaces may be offered free of charge, while others may involve a reduced community rate, particularly where staffing, food, setup, or extended use is required.
We simply ask that groups treat the house, our guests, our neighbours, and our team with respect — and that the work taking place aligns with our values of community, creativity, and consciousness.
Interested in Partnering With Us?

If your charity, non-profit, campaign, or community organisation needs a welcoming space in Eastbourne, please get in touch with your proposal.
Tell us:
-
Who you are
-
What you do
-
What kind of gathering you have in mind
-
How many people you expect
-
What support you need from us
We can’t say yes to everything — but when we can, we always will.
